The Challenge

Everyone knows about Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, but with so many options for today’s time-strapped consumer, you have to do more to create repeat visits. High end restaurants are what we call “destination dining”. They are not the kind of restaurants that you’re driving by and just decide to grab a quick bite.

People plan to go to high-end restaurants. Our job is to help restaurants to increase visitation frequency, and to get new customers in the door, all in an effort to capitalize on the lifetime value of the customer.

How Was It Executed?

As with most of our restaurant promotions, we deployed a video “carpet-bombing” marketing strategy that is designed to QUICKLY grow a very targeted Custom Audience and a large, yet geographically precise, Lookalike Audience.

What makes the results of these types of promotions so significant is the treasure trove of data that we can compile for future remarketing. Imagine having a database of tens of thousands of engaged Facebook users, who fit your customer avatar quite specifically, that you can market to with the click of a button.

We used a combination of front facing video and “dark posts” directed at other targeted audiences compiled from various interests. The magic comes in the back end targeting and Facebook advertising strategy. (which we can manage as well)

Takeaway Learned?

We know that most restaurants are not using Facebook ads to their advantage. That’s because their job is to concentrate on serving great food. However the days of sticking a coupon in the mail have passed. Not using Facebook to market your restaurant is like cooking a steak in a toaster oven.

It might get cooked and someone might eat it, but it’s not the best way to get it done and in the long run you lose by allowing a competitor to do it better.

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse didn’t take that risk. Our strategy and execution allows for targeted geo-saturation and timely replication across any market.
